![]() Let us know who you are? who youre with? and how long youve been doing the damn thing? I am Treske from south eastern Pennsylvania I've been writing treske for about 16 years and had used a seperate name locally for a few years before that. Over the years ive seen your style change and develop ? Did hanging around other artist influence you and how? I've always been open to influence from family and friends... most of my family comes from a fine arts background so I have always tried to pay attention to what was going on with other people's work and even what influenced them... I've had the privilege to cross paths with a handful of quality sprayers over the years and have learned a great deal from all of them ![]() Ive noticed as time goes on youve started to focus less on Panels and more on Monikers. Why is that? I've done so much with spray and enjoyed myself over the years, I'll never turn my back on blasting a quality panel door to ladder... There's something that just gets my blood pumping when i know I'm cleaning up a boxcar that had a bunch of garbage on it... With that said I can't deny that with growing older I have found a more spiritual and therapeutic gain from walking lines alone and marking trains... I've grown more and more distant from my painting bag and fallen in love with the railroad all over again in a more mature way I guess... I enjoy the thought of reaching a wider audience with my monikers and having influence on anyone who chances crossing paths with a mark I have left behind for them to read.
Give us a name of a local writer not affiliated with your crew you think is dope and why? In my city there's a crew of gentleman under the three letters DHS whom I have become quite a fan of... In my opinion they have become the dream team of Philadelphian script wizardry... To be more specific I would say Drama DHS due to the fact that I have been a fan of his hand styles since I was a youngster, he never disappoints Where do you see the future of freight train graffiti It's getting crowded out there and with the recent in flux of new jacks taking out historical panels and monikers carelessly it would be easy to turn this into a very negative reply to your question but let's take a minute to be realistic... the crowding will make for some interesting attempts from sprayers to stick out more and seek recognition which will get things evolving and changing in new directions... And though it pains any of us older fellas who are still here trying to stay in the game to see older panels and monikers disappear it actually is motivation for us to try to step our game up and educate people more as well as get out there and police what's going on, all the while keeping us active and in the game for that much longer... I love railroad graffiti and fortunately I grew up and still reside in a city rich with spray history and style, Nothing compares to philadelphia... I have always enjoyed the stories and respect people have payed for those who came before us time and time again... just with this current in flux of toys in the railroad I have seen the same happen here in the city I love for which we all learned from and worked hard to deal with and keep it moving as I have faith railroad graffiti will do as well... I believe in our success. ![]() Interview from the WRBT Railroaders Magazine.
On behalf of the entire WRBT family. You will be dearly missed. -ZaneWRBT ![]() Its was 6am when i awoke the day of our escape from the infamous BNSF 1000 mile break inspection, sly fox and little bird still layed asleep but my nerves were so thin sleep was the farthest thought from me. Today was our day, i knew the stories and consequences of immediate jail time. This was no regular yard, this was Havre. Soon day break began to roll in and with the skys grey and the sun nowhere in sight we geared up for the cold rain as it was just shy of 30 degrees. Soon sly and bird woke up and we made our way into position. With each train came a thourough and slow inspection of every single car. Back to front and front to back...twice. We let a few trains pass as our nerves climbed higher until finaly we decided to commit. The next one was ours. It wasnt but 45 minutes till our westbound pulled in, i could feel my jeart racing through my shirt, to be able to distinguish the nervous sweat from the cold rain running down my forehead. We sat quietly with the scanner on low. Sly fox first spotted our pickers and pointed them out. Border patrol rolled down the train to get in position to inspect our train and sure enough right after the train master gave the signal to begin their long thorough check. With sporatic spotlighting on both sides the pickers began their inspection car by car all the way to the front and all the way back to where they started. This took about hour or longer with us sitting in the rain anxiously waiting our short window. Soon the pickers passed us once more, it was their last time. This was it. As we creeped closer to the tracks and the pickers slowly drove away car by car we hit our break and ran for the 2 closest cars to us. With little bird and sly taking the first and myself on the second my heart was ready to explode i jumped in and immediatly layed down. With my mouth dry and my head spinning i anxiously layed quiet with the scanner against my ear waiting but...nothing the radio stayed silent. I decided to peak over and see what was going on and sure enough, BNSF police slowly driving our way. ![]() Quickly weighing my options i decided to lay back down and not move a mussle. Laying...waiting and nervous. I could hear him approaching the breaks locked. Hes stopped. Just 4 or so cars from me. As soon as i thought it was over our train began to air up. The train master came over the radio. Bnsf westbound all clear inspection complete have a good trip boys. Just then our train kicked and we were moving, slowly i began to raise my head up again into a sitting position. With content slowly working its way in i began to gear up for the cold weather ahead. We made it and soon enough we were in the welcoming hands of Whitefish. Cold and accomplished i packed what little weed i had into a small pipe and began to once again....relax. ![]() I woke up a lone this morning the only sound being the low rumble of my train idling waiting for its new crew. Yesterday i didnt talk to anyone, no one talked to me. I didnt hear my own voice one time. Today i am geared and ready to leave. Im one beer in. Still tired and still shaking the feeling of a long night prior. My scanners quiet. Lots of things dint make sense anymore, where am i going but away. A lot of people want me to slow down. Im two beers in. I cant slow down. I can see the crew van way up the tracks approaching slowly and its about time i get myself gathered and get on out. People dont realize the weight that comes with freedom. All of my friends are doing things with their lives but ive seen the whole country and it still makes no sense, im three beers in. Why should it matter if it makes sense fuck what they think this is my life. Theres a hot Q train just feet from where im sitting ready to blast up the seaboard with or without me. Its not about winning or losing its about leaving. Its about getting away from it. I dont even know what it is anymore! Fuck! Im four beers in. I found a grainer thats fairly dry the storms the past few days have been more than i can handle. Im pissed but i know this train will take me north onto better places and better faces. ![]() This is what i do, i gave up everything to do just this. Was it worth it? Im not sure sometimes. But its me. Its who i grew into and now its what i know and what i know is what defines me...i think. Im five beers in. Im on the train and we are airing up to leave yet another town behind. I watch it slowly disappear never to be seen again...until im ready to come back. The train picked up speed quickly, within minutes im flying through towns and grade crossings and i no longer worry. The drift kicks in. Six beers in. I think things will be fine for me. Im pretty hungry, i dont have any money left but i guess im just not concerned with that right now. I dont have to think anymore all i have to do is just sit here and watch. Watch towns pass, watch people go about there lives and the best part is. No one even knows im here. I have one more beer and a long ride ahead. The warm winds in the day will eventually turn into a cool breeze that alleviates my pressure. This road isnt for all but it sure as hell is for me and as i pop this last drink i l know i didnt fuck up. I know i did what i did for a reason and now thousands of miles later its come full circle and i can be who i want and i can go where i want. You wont see me but a moment and ill be gone again. But ill be back. We always come back. I got about 215 miles to go and im gonna pass out and wake up somewhere else. Somewhere new and somewhere that will also be left behind. Nothing is forever and it never lasts anyways so keep your pace. This is the railroad and the railroad has no feelings for you. Get on or get left behind. We are excited 10 years after our first release of WRBT Vol. 1 (circa 2007) to be putting out Volume 4 (currently in the works) Showcasing all of the brands values from Writers, Riders, Benchers, and Trainmen all across the country.
