Where did you get your tag any special meanings behind it?
I started out writing a bunch of different things that just didn’t feel right. Used to go bombing with some older writers and they always used to tell me to keep six for them while they got up. One day it just hit me. Like one of those AHA moments you know?

When did you start writing and what made you paint trains?
Back in the mid 90’s I got influenced by my older cousin. I started very slow compared to some. I didn’t fuck with freights until around 2001 and even then I didn’t dive right in. I’m really new to freights compared to the writers who have a heavy presence on the lines. 

Most successful writers have a successful painting partner. Who do you collab with the most?
Throughout the years it changes. I think it’s like that with everyone though. If I’m doing legal eagle type shit I like to paint with anybody. It’s nice to kick it and flex with lots of different people when shits relaxed. Sometimes the best walls are painted spur of tha moment when people just show up. When it comes to bombing or hitting freights though I’m pretty reserved and I’m really cautious who I go with if I go with anyone. 

Who has more whole cars...You or Big Miles?
You know I’m not really sure right now. Back in 2009 we started going back and forth and over the years I just stopped keeping track. He’s definitely one of the biggest motivators for me. I really owe him a lot. He took me to the yard for my first time and has been one of the most consistent writers I’ve ever known.

Wrbt: What do you write and how long you been at it?

Pre...Crispo..Acura..and a few others...I got into graffiti in 1984 after being a failed breakdancer and mc ..I gave graffiti a shot and it took control of me

How did you come up with your name?

Pre was shortened down from precise..which i heard in a t-la rock lyric..later I changed it to 
Pre 1 .. this was all in 1987 prior to that i had a slew of crazy names ie: zass...mode...da..cm..etc etc... 

Can you tell us about your crews and how they got started?

That could take forever ..I’ve been in and out of a ton of crews..some folded..some proved to be unloyal...some I started myself and closed lol.. The ones I have stuck with and have the most solid people in them are TMC (The older Bronx crew..not the west coast one) .. Network ..ICR..AMF..and locally I rep KMD and Allied Forces ..

You been in the game for a long time, what’s your motivation?

Burning...even if its in my own mind or just competing with myself..creating a dope piece and feeling some satisfaction is what motivates me 

What is it about freights that keeps you coming back?

Man..nothing can compare to painting a train .. walls are idle and subject to getting buffed and dissed ..painting steel is exciting and challenging from start to finish..then they roll out to all corners of the country..

How do you feel about the recent emergence of monikers? 

I respect the old timers and the established writers who have adopted the moniker culture, but I aint really feeling the trendy side of it .. It’s kind of like the sticker scene , you have one foot in and one foot out of the game .. You can always drop a sticker or a markal..
If the cops come and its a grey area if its actually vandalism ..I think thats what attracts so many girls and kids to stickers and monikers...they are afraid of making a real committment to graffiti and the lifestyle it involves.
