WRBT: What do you write and what crews you push?
SK: I write Eskae545 (SK545) STV, WH, KBT, and EP
Where did you get that name? Ever write another name?
I always liked names that you could abbreviate but also spell out phonetically. An S is always a dope letter and I thought a K is a great letter to end with.
I use to write another name and was well-known for in my city. I got into some trouble with that name. My friends and I thought it would be a good idea to change it, so I did.
Can you tell us about your crews and how they got started?
As far as I know STV is originally from New York. There are some connections between the earlier Miami STVs and the NYC STVs. It was brought down to Miami around 1989. STV in Miami originally wasn’t a crew. STV was a unification of Miami crews. So if you were a part of that unification you would write your crew followed by STV to represent the other crews.
STV later became a crew. BRIM 127 was in charge at the time I heard of STV. As a kid when I found out it stood for Specialized To Vandalize, I knew this was the team for me. Over time STV became Miami’s most elite bombing crew.
WH was started by GS in 1993. I’m not really sure what he wanted to do with it. I never really asked. I guess it didn’t matter. Being friends he was going to get my full support regardless. A few years later GS started to have a real interest in the train movement. This is when WH took form and became a team of the best train writers in the country.
Walls or steel.. What’s your preference?
I prefer steel. The trains allow you to get notoriety across the country, even the world. The fact they travel makes them better than any wall.
